I have worked for over 10 years teaching in different primary schools at both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Appropriate praise is a significant part of my teaching as I believe children should know and be able to recognise when they have made progress. I have lots of experience of dealing with challenging behaviour and children with Special Educational Needs. My academic background and teaching experience, has provided me with a comprehensive knowledge of the subjects I tutor. I achieved a 2:1 in my teaching degree and have successfully completed the TEFL qualification to provide me with the knowledge to also teach children with English as an additional language. I have a great passion to teach, which consistently reflects in my monitoring feedback of being judged as an outstanding teacher. Personal Biography
I have worked with children from Early Years up to Key Stage 3, most recently in Year 6, preparing a class for their SATS exams and for the transition to secondary school. I have experience working with a wide range of additional needs, providing interventions for children who needed to catch up and meet the age-expected standard, and preparing children to pass the 11-plus test and achieve Greater Depth. My tuition involves assessment to identify areas of strength and weakness, teaching to the curriculum, setting appropriate challenges and building confidence.

Personal Biography
After my degree course, I trained as a teacher and then taught for 10 years in KS2: the first 5 years were in the state system and the next 5 in private schools. Since then I have kept in touch with changes in the National Curriculum, particularly in English and Maths, through Supply Teaching and S.E.N. support work. My work both involves teaching to follow schools’ plans and planning and resourcing lessons myself when needed. I assess work and liaise with school staff.to report progress. My standard of professional integrity is high. Good subject knowledge and the ability to personalise learning to target pupil needs are further strengths which I bring to tuition work.

I am an experienced tutor of five years with an honours degree from Warwick University in History, a Law conversion and currently working toward a Masters degree in Law. I aim to be a source of support and encouragement for my pupils, allowing them to feel comfortable in approaching their coursework and exams--as well as building the foundation for future academia. I believe that each student has a different preferred method of learning and I work towards using a range of methods and learning techniques to allow my tutees to build on their confidence in approaching their academic study.
