Q. What is the cost of the tuition?
A. Our tuition costs vary depending on the level of tuition requested, (e.g. A Level tuition would normally be more expensive than primary tuition) and the individual tutor. Please contact us to confirm exact costs for your tuition.
Q. How should payment be made?
A. Payment is made to Acorn Tuition for the cost of tuition. Tutors then invoice the company to receive their payment.
Q. Do I need to pay travel costs?
A. No our standard fees are inclusive of all travel costs unlike many of our competitors.
Q. How do I know the tutor will meet my requirements?
A. Whenever it is possible, we offer, a free, no obligation, 30 minute consultation session prior to commencing with actual tutorials. In our experience this always benefits both parties and helps to establish the objectives of the tuition.
Q. What happens if I miss a session or need re-arrange a session?
A. As long as we are given 48 hours notice that the student will be unavailable on the arranged day/time, we will do everything we can to arrange an alternative time at no extra cost. We regret that if we are not given 48 hours notice we will have to charge for the session, because there is insufficient time for our tutors to arrange alternative work.
Q. Where will the tutoring take place?
A. This is negotiable. All tutors will be happy to travel to the tutee's home. However, sometimes a neutral place may be deemed more appropriate and convenient, e.g. a library or coffee shop. It may also be possible to arrange for tuition in the tutor’s place of residence.
Q. How long do the tutorials last?
A. Standard tutorials are arranged for 1 hour. However, this is completely negotiable with the tutee and we are happy to arrange longer sessions if needed.
Q. What extra support can you provide?
A. Our service extends beyond the actual tutorial. We are happy to provide as much support as we can to help your studies. This will include extra work set between tutorials; additional resources, such as past papers; text books and revision materials, as well as comprehensive guidance to help the tutee.
