Personal Biography
I understand how crucial education is in shaping a person’s life chances and how, sadly, some shy away from their learning for fear of failure. These are children I can very readily help, as the ability to make learning an exciting, stimulating and enjoyable experience is a key ingredient of effective tuition. I see this consistently in my work with primary-age children, improving their reading and English comprehension skills. I know the national curriculum expectations for children at KS 1, 2 and 3 in English, German and French and can tailor my approach to the learner’s existing achievement level. Children respond well to praise, and I applaud each forward step – however small – in the child’s journey towards higher achievement. Feedback to parents or carers is just as important in supporting the child, and is therefore an integral part of my practice.
